With our project partner Border Signs & Graphics, Abound were commissioned to create content and designs for six gateway orientation panels and, 15 lecterns and monoliths along the 15 km active travel network, along with a 12-page leaflet.
We outlined content for each panel, which was then researched and edited to suit the audience. We also sourced all the images and commissioned an illustrator to produce a suite of maps. This work included negotiating licensing fees and usage rights with copyright holders. Abound also provided some additional photography, included the cover image for the promotional leaflet.
With no established brand guidelines, other than a font, we created a fresh graphic style, incorporating illustrations to capture the spirit of each location.
Meanwhile, we have also taken into account practical considerations like accessibility and durability, to ensure the interpretation remains looking attractive for as long as possible.
