Hampshire Cultural Trust commissioned Abound to design and build three Tudor construction-based activities, within the Cow Byre at Basing House. The design approach was to reference both traditional materials and construction methods within the design. The activity tables were produced from solid oak, with clearly expressed mortice and tenon joints. The brief required the interactives to be safe, robust and easily cleared away. They were therefore fitted with concealed castors to facilitate this. The activities were to construct a:

  • flintstone floor
  • Tudor arch
  • herringbone brick pattern
