Abound Design were commissioned to produce an exhibition and a wall display to showcase the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, signpost regional astro-tourism initiatives and support the local authority environmental strategy to reduce residential and business light pollution. These were installed at the Grade 2-listed Kielder Castle and the modern Tower Knowe Visitor Centres.

Through imaginative interpretive planning and design we created enjoyable multi-sensory experiences for family and school audiences that exceeded the expectations of the project partnership and experienced local astronomers. The wonders of the night sky and the effects of light pollution can be explored through amazing local photography, engaging graphics and narrative, and bespoke hands-on interactives and models.

The project was completed in just 10 weeks.
